My fertility is so lunar - August 17, 2004—

from the "you needed to know this, right?" files... I've been charting and calendarizing my cycle for a while now, ever since I stopped breastfeeding Everett. I'm one of those rare mamas whose ovulation stops completely during breastfeeding, even up to the twice-a-day point.

So when I restarted my cycle it was totally and completely up to my body to decide when. I haven't used those artificial hormones that destroy your body (otherwise known as birth control pills) for three or four years, and so nothing was going on externally from my body's own whims. I wrote everything down in my journal, and started to use the ovulation calendar ...

Cool tool for the mama-to-be - April 9, 2004—

I came across this cool application in one of my strange Google keyword searches (you know, the ones NO ONE has adwords for?). The trial version lasts 45 days and lets you input the important facts about your monthly schedule so you can predict ovulation (for taking advantage of, or avoiding, your choice!). The paid version ($29.95) helps you use timing to increase your chances of conceiving a girl, or a boy, depending on your hopes. The link, with their little blurb, is below.
